SIX DAYS OF SPECTACULAR BIRDING IN EASTERN JAMAICA
Enjoy six (6) days of birding in eastern Jamaica. This bird watching tour is the second shortest of our four (4) featured multiday birding tours which are packaged and promoted to birding interests Worldwide. This bird watching tour, focuses on the eastern region of Jamaica and its unique birding locations. Experience Jamaica's dry-forests, moist forests, flouring gardens, high mountains, river mouths, seashores and utilize the opportunity of seeing all of Jamaica's twenty nine (29) endemic bird species, plus a large number of endemic sub-species, migrant species, vagrant and resident species within six (6) days.
In addition to this, we have done our best in order to limit the number of habitats to be visited on this short multi-day birding tour in order to make it less tiring and our birders can accomplish more positive results. Please bear in mind that this birding vacation package is organize to make sure that our birders visit the birding locations that are most flocked on the island of Jamaica. Eastern Jamaica hosts the best birding locations on this blessed paradise island.
Some of these natural birding locations are unknown to the Birding World and some are the usual and most visited natural birding sites in Jamaica. These bird habitats are different from the dry forests and wetland habitats of southern and southwestern Jamaica. Although some of these habitats are located in higher areas of the central Blue Mountains, they are hosts to mists, usual rainfall, waterfalls and rivers which provides a cooler, greener and more lush environment for birds, birders and birding.
YOUR ITINERARY IN PICTURES
Our tour begins at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston. Here we will meet and greet each other, if all persons do not know each other. From we will depart for our lodge in the northern Blue Mountains, where we will have our first dinner and overnight.
With our lodge on the edge of most of the major habitats, we will have an early rise, and bird around the gardens of the lodge then have breakfast. After breakfast, we will depart our lodge for additional birding in habitats which are located the higher areas. By mid day, we should have gathered a large number of endemics, plus other species. We will head back to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, we will relax for a while. At the end of our relaxation we will have another look around the gardens before dinner. Our second dinner and overnight will be in the northern Blue mountains.
Today, an early rise is optional. However we will leave the lodge after breakfast with our bags, heading for northeastern Jamaica having lunch on rout. While heading northwards, we will bird the lower slopes of the northern Blue Mountains into the valley, making several stops along the river edges. Lunch will be served somewhere along the coast. On our way to our next lodge, we will have a look at the mouth of two rivers. Our third night's dinner and overnight will be in northeastern Jamaica.
Today, we will leave our lodge with a packed breakfast, to the forests of the lower John Crow Mountains. Here we will be intrigued by the presence of the various bird species here. Although we would have had most or all the endemics in the higher mountains, here is no different; as all 29 endemics are also present here. We will bird until mid day, then leave to have lunch on the beach. After lunch, we will head back to our lodge for relaxation. After getting some rest, persons can bird with the guide on the grounds of the lodge. Our fourth dinner and overnight will be in northeastern Jamaica.
After three days of intensive birding, today we will bird the grounds of our lodge before breakfast. After breakfast, we will depart for the higher region of the John Crow Mountains. We will bird this area until about mid day then depart for lunch. After lunch we will traverse other areas which are located near the lodge, before turning in for dinner and overnight.
Today marks the end of our tour. Our departure time from the lodge will be determined based on our participants' airline flight departure from the Norman Manley International Airport. It would be good if the flight or flight are leaving in the evening; as this will allow persons to have some level of relaxation before leaving northeastern Jamaica. If persons are leaving mid morning into mid day, this would give us the opportunity to go to Kingston around the east coast of Jamaica. By doing this, we will have the opportunity of seeing the White-tailed Tropicbird.

ACCOMMODATION AND MEALS
We will spend our first and second night in a cool and comfortable mountain lodge. This accommodation site is located in the cool hills of the northern Blue Mountains. It is surrounded by three main birding hotspots which are hosts to all twenty-nine (29) endemic species plus other resident species like the Rufus-throated Solitaire. Depending on the time of year, migrant and vagrant species are also present. The Crested Quail-dove, Jamaican Black-bird and the Jamaican Owl were all seen close by in recent months.
It will be hard for you to believe that we will only be spending two nights here! We will have two dinners, two breakfasts and possibly two lunches here, before departing the northern Blue Mountains, for northeastern Jamaica.
During your planning for your birding tour, you will be incorporating your thoughts bout birds, friendly people, flouring gardens, good food, safety, security and proper rest at nights. At this accommodation site, the bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. Here, the average birder will feel at home after a long day in the fields.
On this six days birding tour, we will be spending our final three (3) nights at this simple however, fantastic bird-friendly accommodation site. This comfortable eco-style cottage complex has several individual bedroom units, spectacular flowering garden, indoor and outdoor dining facilities and a swimming pool. Our time here will be great especially with the birds.
On this segment of our six days birding tour, we will be having breakfast at the lodge on the morning of the fourth day. On the morning of the fifth day, we will be taking a packed breakfast with us to the forest; as we will be leaving rather early. on the morning of the sixth day where we have breakfast depends on flight departure time out of Kingston. On our third, fourth and fifth nights of the tour, we will have dinner at our lodge. All remaining lunches will be taken on the road.
