RESORT AREAS ON JAMAICA'S SOUTH COASTS

Known as Jamaica's bread basket, this part of Jamaica lives up to its name by producing the most meats, fish, fresh vegetables and fruits which provides a high level of sustenance, for most of the country.  On a tour of these area, you will be driven through acres of farm-lands which are grossly cultivated with various farm produce.  Although they are very hard working, the residents of these areas live simple lives, and can be viewed as very laid back people.

In these areas, numerous youngsters have gone through high school and tertiary educational facilities and are qualified for office jobs.  However, most of the times, they are not able to obtain such, and have to resort to helping their parents on family farms and very often grow up to be big farmers themselves.  This part of Jamaica is not as lush as the north and northeastern side.  However it do get its share of Jamaica's tourism.

Visit Southern Coasts. This area hosts several small towns that embraces their explorers. One of these towns is Black River. You will be delighted to know that Black River is first town in Jamaica to have electricity and motor cars. Learn about the history of Black River and other towns and places of interests within Jamaica's South Coast surroundings. In addition to history, this area has a lot to offer in terms of its wild life. These are its birds, fish, and crocodiles, when you take a safari tour.

There are several small towns in these areas, such as Junction, Santa Cruz and Black River, plus numerous small villages which includes Treasure Beach.  Black River being the Capital of St. Elizabeth's parish, hosts various small accommodation sites, and the major south attraction, the Black River Safari.  Other attractions around this area is the Appleton Rum Distillery and YS Falls.
