Uniquely, Northern Jamaica hosts the most frequently visited bird habitats in all of Jamaica.  Our most compelling evidence is, from the Northern Cockpit Country to the northern areas of the Blue Mountains, and all areas of the John Crow Mountains, bird watcher’s from all over the world come to visit.  Equally important, thess large areas consists of dry-forests, lush green woodlands, moist forests, rivers, springs, rivermouths, and sea shores.  Ultimately, Northern Jamaica is highly suitable for birding.  Given these points, it is a bird watchers paradise.  

With these thoughts in mind, the activity organizers of Attractions Link Tourism Services have featured their shortest multi-day bird watching tour for 2025-2026.  Interestingly, this Jamaica Birding tour is called, ‘Birding Tour of Northern Jamaica;’ which leads a series of four (4) multi-day birding tours.  Given these points, if you are holidaying in Jamaica or visiting for any major or minor events, you can combine this birding adventure with your desired vacation.

NORTHERN COCKPIT COUNTRY

On the first day of your 'Four Days Birding Tour of Northern Jamaica,' over forty (40) species can be seen in these forests to include over twenty (20) of the twenty nine (29) endemic species; which are present on the island. You will be delighted as you traverse these forests; which are homes to both 'Endemic Parrots'.

Also on the first day, additional shore birding is possible enrout to Port Antonio. This gives birders on this tour the opportunity of seeing some waders.

BIRDING ALONG THE COAST

Also on the first day, on rout from the Cockpit Country to Port Antonio, various stops will be made along the seashores and river mouths, to view waders and other species of water-birds.

LOWER JOHN CROW MOUNTAINS

On the second day, exploring the forests of the lower John Crow Mountains will be essential. Over ONE HUNDRED (100) species to include rare and common endemics. Other rare bird species, can also be seen here. After the morning's birding, lunch will be on the beach.

LOWER JOHN CROW MOUNTAINS

Also on the second day, we will be going into other areas of the 'Lower John Crow Mountains' after lunch. Although nearer to civilization, these foreste are magnificent in the mid to late afternoon. Birding in Jamaica is rewarding in these areas. Birding around the gardens of your lodge, will also be rewarding. JAMAICAN OWL!!!

UPPER JOHN CROW MOUNTAINS

On the third day, exploring the upper John Crow Mountains will be ideal. Enjoy the great forests, and more rare birds! Similar to the 'Lower John Crow Mountains,' a large number of endemics can be seen here. After a morning's birding, we will depart to the 'Northern Blue Bountains,' stopping on rout for lunch.

NORTHERN BLUE MOUNTAINS

Also on the forth day, on arrival in the 'Northern Blue Mountains,' we will bird some of the forests before checking in to our lodge. Enjoy viewing Blue Mountain Vireos, Chestnut-bellied Cuckoos, Jamaican Lizard Cuckoos! After checking in, we will bird the gardens of the lodge before dinner.

NORTHERN BLUE MOUNTAIN

On the forth day, we will be up early looking for Crested Quail-dove, Jamaican Black-bird, White-eye Thrush! We will take a packed breakfst with us. We will be birding various areas of the 'Northern Blue Mountains, before returning to the place of accommodation where you were picked up before the tour. (lunch enrout).
